Behind her is a large, egg-shaped bronze sculpture by the legendary Catalan surrealist artist Joan Miró, titled Monument a la dona (Monument to the Woman, 1972).
Because of its distinct shape, locals and tourists widely refer to it simply as “The Egg.” It features Miró’s signature abstract, dream-like black engravings—including his recognizable star motif near the bottom.
