In one of the recent episodes of Teen Mom: Next Chapter, Amber and Gary’s daughter Leah asked her stepmom, Kristina, to adopt her.
After the episode, fans started asking questions such as “Would Amber have to relinquish all parental rights before Kristina could adopt Leah? If that’s the case what happens if Amber refuses?”
“Yes Amber’s rights would have to be terminated. She could either sign them away willingly in order to let Kristina adopt, but if she was not willing, Gary and Kristina would have to file to terminate her rights, which is really hard to have done if the other “parent” contests it no matter how bad they suck,” one fan explained.
“Yes. She would have to relinquish them and that certainly wont happen. Amber has enjoyed the status symbol of being a “mom” and in the franchise,” another fan commented.
